When Jasmine catches a tiny ladybird in the garden, she's so excited. But when she carefully lifts the cup, the ladybird has vanished.

"I think it died," Jasmine whispers.

With the help of Mum and her playful puppy, Bo, Jasmine learns an important lesson. Just because something disappears doesn't always mean it's gone forever. Sometimes things fly away. Sometimes they hide. Sometimes we just can't see them anymore.

The Ladybird That Died is a gentle children's picture book about death, loss and misunderstanding. Rather than explaining death directly, it helps young children understand that disappearing and dying are not the same thing, making it the perfect first step before bigger conversations about grief.

Can we get a puppy?
When Jasmine asks Mum if they can get a puppy, Mum has plenty of reasons to say no.

It will chew shoes.
It will wee and wee in the house.
It will wake everyone up in the middle of the night.
It will jump on the furniture.
It will dig up the garden.
And somebody will have to pick up all that poo!

No matter what Mum says

No matter what Mum says, Jasmine always has an answer. She'll put her shoes away. She'll share her pocket money. She even thinks one of the baby sisters nappies might solve the toilet problem!

But has Dad been listening all along?

Jasmine's New Puppy is a heartwarming children's picture book based on a true story. Beautifully illustrated in a traditional watercolour style, it's a funny and touching story about family, patience, responsibility and the unforgettable moment one little girl finally meets the puppy she's been dreaming of.

For children who love dogs, families thinking about getting a puppy and cosy bedtime reading together.

When snow begins to fall, the family quietly slips outside for a snowball fight, leaving Granddad snoozing peacefully in his armchair… or so they think.

The moment they’re gone, Granddad opens his eyes. There’s a draught coming from somewhere, and no matter what he tries, he just can’t get his feet warm. Will a blanket, a pair of slippers or a little unexpected help finally do the trick?

Granddad’s Cold Feet is a funny and heartwarming picture book about family life, loyal dogs and one particularly grumpy granddad. Perfect for young readers who love cosy winter stories, grandparents, pets and plenty of gentle humour.

The Story Behind the Story

The Little Adventures of One Big Family are a little different from most children's books.
Every story is inspired by something that really happened in our family. The funny moments, the chaos, the little everyday adventures and the things that might not seem particularly important at the time, but somehow become the memories you never want to forget.
That's really why I started writing these books.
They're my way of keeping those moments. Almost like a family diary, only one I'm choosing to share. A collection of memories that my children can look back on one day, and stories that can continue to exist long beyond my own years.
The characters are real too. They're based on my own children, our family and our pets. The illustrations are created from real photographs and edited with the help of AI to turn the people and pets we know and love into the illustrated characters you see in the books.
AI helps me create the pictures, but the stories are mine. Every word is completely my own and was actually spoken by myself or my family.
So when you meet the characters in The Little Adventures of One Big Family, you're not meeting people I've invented or reading adventures I've made up.
They're real people. Real names. These things really happened. These are our memories, our adventures and our stories

Meet Mum, Dad, Mamma, Granddad, Callum, Maria, Jasmine and Sameena, along with Max the  protective German Shepherd and, of course, Bo the playful poodle cross.

One Last Little Note...

I know not everyone agrees with the use of AI, and I completely understand that. I'm a new author, just starting out, and right now hiring a professional illustrator for every book simply isn't something I can afford.

My hope is that, as my books grow, I'll eventually be in a position to work with an illustrator who can bring our family stories to life by hand.

Until then, you might occasionally spot an extra leg, a suspicious looking hand or something else that makes you think, hang on a minute... Just smile and carry on. I'm learning as I go!

I'm at the very beginning of this little adventure, so wish me luck. And if you're an illustrator, or know someone who might be perfect for The Little Adventures of One Big Family, I'd genuinely love to hear from you.
